Best Material To Use On Your Nail Bar

18 Mar, 2017 | Lifestyle, Quartz |
Renovating your nail salon is not only good for business but allows clients to see where the developments are happening within your business. One of the top things that you will have to constantly keep up to date on are your counter tops, nail stations and design features. You must also ensure that everything is sanitary and safe for customers and stay within government guidelines for operation.

What to use

In today's market the number one material for counter tops is called Quartz. Quartz is a combined stone that is durable and does not crack easily. You will not only enjoy the look of Quartz but you will appreciate the fact that it is easy to maintain. It contains 90 to 94 percent ground quartz and 6 to 10 percent polymer resins and pigments which is designed for low maintenance.

Why Quartz

Due to its non-porous nature Quartz is mold, stain and mildew resistant. This makes it easier to keep free of germs and bacteria. Quartz also has some degree of heat resistance. There are different types of Quartz such as manufactured market Quartz. This form can withstand heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. However, thermal shock can take place if you put a hot pot from an oven directly on a cold Quartz counter top.

So as you can see there are ups and downs of using Quartz. Another factor to consider is your budget when making the decision to use Quartz. It cost a range of $70 to $100 per square foot. So depending upon how big your nail salon is. Your cost can be fairly expensive.

Final words of advice

Do not use strong chemicals and scrubbers on your Quartz counter tops as these will make them become dull in appearance. Use paper towels or a towel to clean up liquid spills. Use mild household cleaners if needed. Never cut anything directly on the counter tops as it will create marks in the stone.
